Vincent Wayne-Ted Lo

Accompanist

Vancouver born Vincent Lo studied piano under the tutelage of Henry Waack. He started composing music as a teenager and went on to achieve an ARCT diploma in piano performance with a minor in music composition at SFU.  During his time in university, he co-founded the SFU Chamber Orchestra together with a few close friends, which started his journey into orchestral music.

Vincent’s compositional specialty is Baroque chamber music and contrapuntal writing.  His works have been performed by many musical groups, most notably the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO) and the Electra Women’s Choir.  “Gloria in excelsis Deo” is one of two pieces commissioned by the Choral Connections choir, and was debuted by the choir in December 2019.

In addition to his background in music, Vincent has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.  He’s currently working in user experience research and design, and is keen on designing and programming video games.   In fact, Vincent composed and produced the soundtrack for a mobile game that he designed and published himself.

This very busy man still finds time to accompany our choir every Tuesday evening, not to mention every performance.  Not only does Vincent provide a high level of professionalism during our choir warm-up, practices and performances, he is downright friendly and is a key member of our choir because he makes us sound better.
